200 years of hospitality
Hospitality has been the by-word here for generations. Village history records the Adler as being a local inn, a watering hole for the locals, as well as offering accommodation and sustenance to those travelling the Via Valtellina, a now almost forgotten trade route over the Alps.
Our original parlours and antique furniture, some dating back to the year 1790, bear witness to these past times. One real little gem is the renowned Montafon parlour. Today, in our multiple award-winning à la carte restaurant gourmet specialities are served on finely worked Montafon tables dating back to the 18th century.
New pieces of the hotel's history are still being unearthed today. During the course of recent renovation work, we started searching for the missing hand-crafted wooden wall and ceiling panelling, which had once decorated one of the old rooms in the hotel. We finally located sections of this valuable artefact in Switzerland. So today the ancient panelling once again graces the walls of our Kessler pergola, just as it did hundreds of years ago! What better venue could there be for those special family occasions, weddings and social get-togethers?
